I studied sculpture at Kingston School of Art, and then by turn of events, began a long career dealing in art & antiques. During this time, I started to attend evening classes in the excellent Ceramics Department at Kingston Adult Education under the tutelage of George Wilson and Derek Northfield whose deep knowledge of pottery processes was invaluable to me. I gained LOCN Ceramics Technology certificates for Glaze, Fire & Colour (level 3).
Since moving to Suffolk in 2013, I have set up my own studio and am busy exploring the meeting point of real clay and the demands of my mind's eye. At present, my work consists of hand-built stoneware vases and plaques decorated with slips, oxides and stains . I am fascinated by the graphic quality of white on dark clay combined with sgraffito and colour washes.
I am also a member of Anglian Potters and Suffolk Open Studios.
