Roy creates studio ware for domestic use, working in stoneware which is normally thrown, although he does incorporate slab and coiled work in his pieces. Decoration is applied by brush, dipping or wax resist, and the glazes he uses, such as Celadon and Tenmoku, reflect the strong Oriental influence on his work.
